Experience
I consider myself a goal-orientated person. I have developed a successful work ethic that has translated into my own company. In the last decade, I have successfully managed my own landscaping business. I continue to work part-time, but I am transitioning toward my other vocation of helping children and adults from a psychological standpoint. I would like to use my current background experience to tutor children part-time. I believe there is a need for tutors and I would like to offer my experience and services to those individuals in need. Related Experience: Para-Professional (Pillager Public School, 2006-2012) I worked in a school setting for six years as educational assistant. I concentrated my efforts on helping struggling kids who required extra guidance to remain on task. I also learned to accommodate the needs of young children with impairments and disabilities, such as ADHD and Autism. I recently graduated from St. Cloud State University. I plan to pursue my master’s degree in next few years. I have always been intrigued with child development and strategies to improve academic, social, and communication abilities of young individuals. I am a proponent of hard work, and I focus on “study skills” training. It is necessary for children to learn and sustain appropriate study routines in order to apply them throughout life. While I was obtaining my bachelor’s degree, I volunteered at The Boys and Girls Club in St. Cloud, MN. I was able to organize educational activities and promote relationship building among the youth. I have studied the variations of learning such as nature versus nurture. I understand the importance of using a multimodal approach. Implementing different principles such as meaningful learning, intrinsic learning, or anticipation and reward are essential. Using such strategies will help determine the best means of learning for your child.
